My story

At 19 my bestie and I moved to New York City with the promise of a recording contract. We traveled 12 hours on a Greyhound bus, to chase our dream of being recording artists. One year later, after forming a girl’s group, writing and recording an album, we found ourselves on the hottest tour of the year featuring Al-B-Sure, Bobby Brown, and New Edition. Our label Uptown Records used the tour for exposure and experience. We were background singers for Al-B-Sure, our label mate. Several months into the tour we became the opening act, performing before 30 to 40k fans in every major city in the US. Touring taught me one thing, that being an artist didn’t appeal to me. I have a passion for writing and spent much of my career as a professional songwriter. 

Many years later, when the music business began to change, I knew I needed to reinvent myself. My husband, a music business executive was also in transition so in 2004 we moved to NC, intending to flip houses. 

Starting a real estate business was not our original intent, but understanding the ins and outs of real estate was our goal. In 2004 I was able to become the Broker of our firm without a waiting period, so I did just that. Building Westchester Realty has been a labor of love, we have persevered through a market crash, the pandemic, and record low inventory. We have not only survived but thrived, listing, and selling over 1,000 properties with a sales volume of over $98,000,000 for HUD, VA, USDA, Loan Servicers, Residential clients, and various Housing Authorities. Please don’t get me wrong, there were some very rough times along the way which required pivoting, transitioning along with prayer, and fasting.
